MAKKAH: Starting on Wednesday, 25 Shawwal 1446 (April 23, 2025), the Public Security Directorate of Saudi Arabia has started implementing the entry requirements for Hajj 1446, which require all citizens to obtain official licenses in order to enter Makkah.
Complex checkpoints were established to screen entrants and restrict unauthorized access. Any without proper certification would be denied passage.
The measures aim to facilitate an orderly circulation of pilgrims while safeguarding their well-being throughout the religious observances.
Meanwhile, residents prepared to present their permits to overwhelmed officials, anxiously awaiting clearance to proceed with their daily routines.
Only individuals with permits for work at holy sites, Makkah-registered residency, or official Hajj permits will be allowed entry.
Permits are issued electronically via the “Absher Individuals” platform, the “Muqeem” portal, and the unified Hajj permit platform, “Tasreeh.”
